Bayliner Boat Cover

All I can find online are the type that you tie down. The boat is a 1992 Bayliner Capri 2070 Bow rider. Any help would be appreciated......thanks!!!

Pretty much any shop that does tents/awnings and boat tops can make a custom-fitted cover for your boat. Check your local yellow pages.

I have a 1987 Bayliner Capri Cuddy, 18 ft. It came with the original canvas snap boat cover, however it has become too small due to sun. Is there another type of cover more of just a slip cover that I can keep on it all summer while it is docked in the water? Does anyone have any websites or suggestions?

Well if the current cover isn't torn or worn out I can probably save you a couple of hundred dollars. First, soak the cover in a tub of fresh water to rinse the salt out of it. Next, stretch the cover to reach the bow and aft snaps and attach them. Now start working your way down both sides toward the middle of the boat. You should be able to restretch the canvas to fit the boat if you wet it first.

If you do need to buy another cover you're looking for someone who works with canvas to make boat covers, awnings, etc. Sometimes a sail maker might make them as well as a part of a side line.

I also found a link to an owners club which led me to a good shop specializing in Bayliner covers. I'll leave those links below.

I would still recommend that you try to restretch the original covers first though. It's really not all that hard and new covers are going to be expensive. Besides that all that's going to happen to your new cover is it will get wet and shrink the same way that this one did. What will you do buy a new cover every time one shrinks?

I have a 98 bayliner capri open bow sppeed boat and the cover over the storage in the hull is warped and rotted is there a place that custom makes these or am i on y own? I would like the exact same cover (carpeted plywood/fiberglass backed) but I do not know where to find it. Please help

A fiberglass repair shop can do it. I did a lot of them when I worked at a boat shop. They are easy to make. The reason they rot is the manufacturer doesn't completely rap them in glass. Anny decent marine repair should be able to do it.

We just screwed it into the spot it is suppose to be screwed into. Have we missed additional pieces or something? The boat is a 1997 Bayliner 1854 Ski/Fish Boat. Whole engine cover came flying off and ripped off the boat.

Skiing puts an enormous amount of pull on that pylon, they have to be backed up with something.

Don't know about your specific pylon, but the ones that I have seen rip out were either placed into a rotten deck or were not adequately backed up with a plate or the largest washers possible. On my boat the bolts, not screws, from the pylon go all the way thru the hull and are backed up by washers and nuts. When I bought the boat I put in the largest washers that would fit and then double nuts to prevent them from coming off.

Shoot us a photo of your pylon and maybe we can suggest reinstall to your boat.

To everybody: now you know why we NEVER sit passengers/observers behind the pylon. They can cut loose, and do serious bodily harm.

I have a 1990 20' Bayliner Capri bowrider. The 2050 CX model. I need a cover that can withstand the winter here in N.J. I have seen materials like SunBrella and SharkSkin, and even canvas... I can't spend lots of money, I guess around $300-325 is my limit. Any ideas?

iBoats offers many great covers as cheap as you'll find them.
Sunbrella is great as a bimini top but a little too expensive and porous for a boat cover in my opinion.
I like the Sharkskin material myself, it's breathable but waterproof and they are strong enought to be left on while trailering just make sure you use some sort of bow system to keep water and snow from building up.
